The syllabus pdf has been posted and the online reader is ready to go, so we should be up and running. If you have any technical questions about the course, please ask them here as a comment.
We won't be starting the formal discussion questions until next week, but for this week's section you might think of examples from your own reading and viewing of approaches to the past that are and are not history, as defined today in lecture.
On the negative side, apparently for Christmas we can look forward to a new edition of National Treasure. It looks like Lincoln and the presidency get the treatment this time. Ugh.

How do i access the online reader from this page?
You could not have found that trailer at a better time. I cracked up so hard when I saw it.
There are buttons on the left of the main course site shell . Or, I have just put links on the blog under "Useful Items" to the right.
When exactly did the north start to shy away from slavery and more towards the peoples freedom?
The link: http://members.aol.com/jfepperson/rhett.html for one of our unit 14 online reader will not work.
I just tried the Rhett link and it works fine for me. Are they blocking members.aol.com on campus? I will find an alternative if so.
Do we need to read every single link on the online reader?
Mr. Pasley, I was wondering about the final exam. When and where will this be as I need to figure out my schedule for conflicts and for my job. Thank you.
Check the back page of the syllabus for the final exam info.
